Cookie Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026.
1. About this policy
This policy explains how The Kildare Academy of Dance Ltd uses cookies and similar browser storage on its website. It should be read alongside the Academy’s Privacy Policy (KAD-POL-017) and Website, Purchases, Returns & Gift Voucher Terms (KAD-POL-018).
The Academy is based at Unit W1K, Ladytown Business Park, Toughers, Naas, Co. Kildare, W91 AK79, Ireland. Company Registration No. 628954. For questions, contact officekildaredance@gmail.com or 087 679 8534.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Similar technologies, including local storage, can remember preferences between visits. Some are needed to provide a service you request; optional technologies require your choice before they are enabled.
3. Essential website and shop functions
Essential cookies support functions such as remembering your basket, maintaining a shopping session, secure sign-in and security checks. These are used where necessary to provide the requested service, rather than for advertising. Blocking them through your browser may prevent the basket, checkout or sign-in from working.
WooCommerce normally uses woocommerce_cart_hash and woocommerce_items_in_cart for the browser session, and wp_woocommerce_session_ followed by an identifier for approximately two days. These support basket contents and the customer session. WordPress sign-in and security cookies apply where a person signs in; their duration depends on the sign-in settings.
4. Your cookie preference
The website stores your choice in your browser’s local storage under kad-cookie-choice-v1. It is used only to remember whether you allow the optional Google Maps feature. The choice is treated as valid for 180 days; after that the website asks again. You can change your choice earlier through Cookie settings. Clearing browser storage will also reset it.
5. Optional Google Maps
The embedded Google Map is not loaded unless you allow it. Loading it connects your device to Google, which receives information such as your IP address and may use cookies or other storage under its own policies. The Academy uses the map to help visitors find the studio.
You can decline the embedded map and still use the rest of the website. The studio address remains visible. A directions link opens Google Maps on Google’s website, where Google’s own privacy and cookie choices apply.
Information about Google’s processing is available in its Privacy Policy and cookie information.
6. Analytics, advertising and external services
This policy does not authorise analytics or advertising cookies. Any future use must be described and connected to the consent controls before activation. Class bookings take place through the separate DanceBiz customer portal, whose own notices apply when you visit it.
Before shop payments are enabled, the Academy must confirm the cookies and storage used by the final payment configuration, including Stripe, and add the verified details where applicable. The shop payment configuration is not covered by a completed cookie audit at this stage.
7. Changing your choice
Choose Reject optional to continue without the embedded map, Accept optional to allow it, or Cookie settings to choose. You can reopen Cookie settings from the footer at any time and withdraw your permission. Withdrawal stops the embedded map from loading on this website and removes any currently displayed map. It does not undo information already sent to Google or remove cookies stored by Google; those can be managed in your browser or Google settings.
8. Keeping this information accurate
This policy must be reviewed when the website’s services change. The final cookie list, providers, purposes and durations must be checked against the launch configuration before payments or new optional services are enabled.
