Use Find Your Class to browse by age, style and day. If you are unsure about the right level, contact Kildare Academy of Dance for guidance.

It is never too late to begin or return to dance. Our adult classes welcome a variety of ages, backgrounds and experience levels. Students can dance for enjoyment, fitness, mindfulness and friendship, with examination and performance opportunities available for those who would like an additional goal.

Trial classes are generally available for new students. Trials are paid. Please contact Kildare Academy of Dance with the dancer’s age and the class you are interested in to arrange a suitable trial.

Students may attend another suitable class on the timetable, subject to space. Make-up classes must be taken before the end of the same term, with a maximum of two make-up classes per term.

See the Uniform / What to Wear section on the Classes page for the requirements for each listed class or grade. If your class is not listed, please ask us before purchasing uniform.

We recommend leggings and a sports top: something cool and comfortable, not too baggy or restrictive. For adult ballet, a leotard, tights and skirt are optional. Ballet shoes are recommended; socks can be worn initially. Jazz shoes are recommended for jazz, and tap shoes are needed for tap.

Participation is always discussed carefully with students and families. Not every dancer needs to take an examination or perform on stage to make excellent progress. We help each student find the pathway that is right for them.

Our teaching programme includes Classical Ballet, Modern / Jazz, Lyrical, Commercial, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Tap. Wedding dance lessons, line dancing and ballroom dancing are not currently offered.
